Louis François – Fleurie 2013 : Fruité et généreux
Louis François – Fleurie 2013

Fruité et généreux

Region
One of only ten Beaujolais crus on a terroir that mostly sits over pink granite, it brings the juicy Gamay to a maturity based on red fruits.

Vintage Conditions
Just like the rest of France, it has been a difficult vintage in Beaujolais, but even in these particular conditions the Gamay succeeds in maintaining its characteristic aroma, helped along by the style of vinification.

Colour
Red garnet with violet tones.
Nose
Showcasing red fruit and flowers, namely peony and lilac. Candy floss then appears, confirming a pleasant and luscious approach. It’s classic and perfect.
Palate
Round and fleshy fruit following the same tempo as the nose. Simply lovely! The acidity underlines the fullness of this Gamay, and the persistence on the tongue reveals its pepperiness.
Food pairing
A simple and rich meal of black sausage with cooked apples would be perfect.
Vintage Blend
100% Gamay Noir à jus blanc
Maturation
Aged for 6 months in large oak barrels.
Serving temperature
14/15°C
How to serve
None apart being very cautious on the service temperature, which needs to remain fresh.
Ageing potential
2 to 3 years
