Louis François – Graves Blanc 2013 : Aromatique et gourmand
Louis François – Graves Blanc 2013

Aromatique et gourmand

Region
Bordeaux is world famous for the quality of its red wine but too often forgotten for its white wines. The gravelly soil, which gives its name to the appellation, allows semillon and sauvignon blanc grapes to reach full ripeness.

Vintage Conditions
The overall quality for 2013 is fair, the best châteaux have limited their yields in order to harvest the best quality grapes possible.

Colour
Golden yellow colour, green rims.
Nose
This white Graves stands out thanks to its balance and refined aroma more than its exuberance. We are delighted by pear notes and white poached fruits, underlined by a touch of lemon.
Palate
A friendly style with a creaminess build around juicy aromas of Corsican lemon, Williams pear and a dash of pineapple. Delicious.
Food pairing
Poached cod fillet with a chutney of mango and pineapple.
Vintage Blend
Vintage blend: 50% Sauvignon 50% Semillon
Maturation
Ageing on fine lees with regular stirring in cement vats.
Serving temperature
9/10°C
How to serve
May be decanted while still young.
Ageing potential
3 to 4 years.
Typicality of the LF vintage according to the terroir
A gravelly terroir dating back to the quaternary era, one of the only terroirs producing the heat retention required to help white grapes to ripen fully. The appellation has produced a good vintage, and this wine style is its perfect interpretation.
